The Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) hold this event annually to recognise and reward the talent within today’s Further Education sector. The Awards cover all aspects of FE provision and were introduced in 2003, giving an opportunity to engage the people within the education industry, regardless of their level of authority within business, junior, senior or directorate.
Neil Maclean, JHP Employability Tutor and award winner has worked hard for JHP Employability for over four years. He is passionate about his involvement in assisting people to achieving their goals and was nominated for the award by one of his very satisfied students on the e2e programme, Aiden Henry.
Aiden Henry had no interest in learning until Neil offered to mentor him and put him on an action plan. They built up a trusting relationship by which Aiden did not only gain a Level 2 in Literacy and he also a Numeracy qualification; this led him to successfully secure a place at Bournville College in Birmingham.
Tutor Neil Maclean, is delighted to receive the award and said, “I am firstly, thrilled with the recognition of receiving such as prestigious award, but more importantly, I'm thrilled that Aiden has found a focus and started to realise his potential and that is surely, the biggest reward of all".
An awards ceremony took place on 26th November at a spectacular, cosmos-themed national event at Old Billingsgate in London, which was attended by more than 500 learning and skills sector staff, learners and special guests including Kevin Brennan, Minister for Further Education.
JHP Group actively promotes and supports equality of opportunity for all, regardless of ability, age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religious belief.
