JHP Carlisle Learners Celebrate Connexions Young Achiever of the
Year Success
Two JHP Carlisle learners received the top awardsfor ‘Outstanding
Achievement’ in the Connexions Young Achiever of the Year Awards.Jenna Dicker, 19 and Katie McRonald, 18, were both commended for
their focus, effort and determination in achieving their
qualifications.
Jenna, who has successfully completed a Level 2 Business
Administration NVQ, said that before embarking on her qualification
with JHP Training:
“I was living on my own and I didn’t know what I wanted to do with
my life. I was applying for jobs and couldn’t get anywhere.”
However, with the help of Connexions and the staff at JHP Training
she has now successfully turned her life around and after impressing
the staff at JHP Carlisle she has now been taken on as their
administrator and is looking forward to gaining further
qualifications to enhance her career.
The second award winner of the evening, Katie McRonald, was a
troubled teenager when she first entered her local Connexions but
two years on, with the support and guidance from JHP Carlisle, she
has achieved her Level 2 Health and Social Care NVQ and now works as
a carer for the Cumbria Cerebral Palsy Society.
The Mayor of Carlisle presented the awards on the
night and said:
“I would like to congratulate these inspirational young people and
the organisations that give them the opportunity to learn different
things and recognise their achievements”.
Congratulations from everyone at JHP Training to both Jenna and
Katie for their much deserved awards.
Learn New Skills and Plan for Tomorrow with e2e
JHP Carlisle has recently started to deliver a programme known as e2e (meaning Entry to Employment) which is designed for 16 to 19 year olds that want to prepare for getting jobs.
From premises in Broadacre House, we have an entire floor dedicated to learners on our e2e programme. e2e is designed to help young people overcome the difficult barriers they face in their day-to day lives that might prevent them from finding employment. Through a mixture of group work and one-to-one support, learners can gain valuable skills which will help them find work and keep it.
